Since the 1970s Tadashi has made more than sixty intaglio prints of flowers and (or) birds. Ten examples are included in this gallery. Click on a picture to enlarge it. In many of his pictures (e.g., prints 1-5) Tadashi places a very accurately drawn flower or bird in the foreground and an indistinct mixture of objects and colors in the background. In other pictures the background is either missing (e.g. print 6) or hazy (e.g. prints 7-10). This combination of an indistinct background and a distinct foreground object creates the illusion of a three-dimensional picture which is very unusual among Japanese flower-bird prints.
